I'll overwhelm 'credible combatant' Jake Paul - Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

Anthony Joshua will face the American YouTuber in an eight-bout contest which will be shown in real-time on Netflix.

Briton Anthony Joshua said he will "stamp all over" Jake Paul and "overpower" the American as the two fighters confronted each other to build hype for the upcoming heavyweight fight.

Ex twice world boxing king Joshua meets YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul - in what is, on paper, a huge uneven pairing - at Miami's arena on 19 December.

Fighter's Mentality

"I plan to injure his face and hurt his body. I'm here to prove I'm superior," Joshua, 35 years old, said.

"I'll stamp all over him. That's a fighter's mentality.

"I will genuinely try to injure him. That's my intention."

Civil Exchange

Despite such comments, a relaxed Joshua and internet personality Paul - normally recognized for his dramatics - were respectful and remained civil with each other.

Paul rather attacked ex Joshua's rival the Cameroonian fighter and described him as "not serious" after Ngannou rejected a fight offer.

Targeting Fury

Joshua, meanwhile, criticized UK opponent Fury - and rejected a £1m bet 'The Gypsy King' claims he will make on a victory for Paul.

"Jake Paul is better than Fury - he's actually sitting here," Joshua said.

"I respect him for that."

Serious Opponent

In spite of stating he plans to hurt Jake Paul, Joshua refused to comment unfavorably about his opponent's pugilistic talent.

"Jake Paul is a credible opponent," he said.

Paul's History

Jake Paul - who first rose to fame on the Disney Channel - has mostly boxed mixed martial artists or past-their-prime fighters since becoming pro.

He was defeated by British fighter Fury in last year.

Commercial Attraction

Still, the inexperienced fighter is still one of boxing's greatest commercial attractions, regularly earning huge financial rewards.

Prediction and Confidence

The 28 year old anticipated a stoppage in the fourth or fifth round and stated he would derail the much-anticipated Fury-Joshua bout, which is apparently under discussion for two years from now.

"It will be me versus Tyson Fury next year," Jake Paul said.

Size Disparity

As the two fighters engaged in the usual face-off, with their size difference on show, it emphasized just how surprising this entire matchup is - and how amazing it is that the match is actually proceeding.
